STAYING MOTIVED TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

Everyone has those days, when you just cant be bothered.
Finding motivation in everyday life can be a struggle.  Its easy to set goals but the real work is in staying motived enough to achieve them. They key to this is actually by believing you will achieve them. Act, speak and feel as though you have already achieved them. You can use visualisation to help feel what it will be like once you achieve your goals. Your state of mind is so important when it comes to motivation. It could be as simple as choosing to act optimistic when a challenge faces you that can change your whole day.  It's all about connecting back to the reasons we set our goals, and remembering how the outcomes will affect our life... that is where true motivation comes from. x

LIFE UPDATE

Other than working and being a carer for my brother here is a few little things I've been up to lately:
- Doodling and journaling. With so much going on in my life at the moment I have been trying to make time for my self to just zone out and relax. Drawing mandalas is my favourite type of meditation.
- Practicing my driving skills... I am just two weeks away form my test, I am so excited. Send some positive vibes this way :)
- Selling up my life here in Australia. I am on my way to Canada in July and then hopefully going to keep travelling from there, which means getting rid of most of my belongings. It feels so good to be getting rid of so much unneeded crap i had, loving the minimalist mindset which is why I eventually am going to build my own tiny home :)
- Wedding Videography. I recently travelled to New Zealand for three weeks where i filmed my third wedding, and it was such an amazing experience. Here is a wedding I shot in October of a lovely couple called Annie and Steve... (password is a&s) It is definitely something I would love to do more of in the future!

What have you been up to?

16 GOALS FOR 2016

Happy (Almost) New Year! What a great year it has been spent with some amazing people, filled with some awesome adventures and a chance for me to grow so much as my own person. What are you all doing to spend your last day of 2015? I've decided to do some pre-ish new years resolutions, so heres my 16 goals for 2016...

1. Eat healthier- I have learnt so much this year about diet and nutrition and have come alone way with improving my diet. I've now cut out all animal products and been vegan for 8 months! Yay! But I have been getting lazy with my diet and I know i can do a lot more to improve, this year I'm hoping to follow a high carb low fat diet (HCLF), eating more fresh organic whole fruits and veggies, and most of all sticking to my vegan diet.

2. Get my license- I finally have the chance to get my license! I am almost half way with my hours and I plan to get it before going to Canada in July. I'm so excited, more adventures and road trips to come!

3. Meditation- I find it is a great tool for for keeping my life in balance and helping me to stay in the present. Its something that is important to me so so this year I have a goal to make a little time for it everyday.

4. Nature- I want to spend more time in nature this year either doing nature walks, swimming in waterholes or even simply taking my yoga outside. Just taking the time to stop and appreciate the nature around me always makes me feel more connected and alive.

5. Exercise- I'm not looking to lose weight I simply want to feel better, improve my mood, energy and get fit.

6. Yoga- As well as taking more time for yoga I want to complete the 30 day challenge from Yoga with Adriene (My favourite Yoga Channel)

7. Drink more water- I need to get onto drinking more water I know I don't drink enough, I'm starting with 1L in the morning and making sure I fill my 1L bottle 2 or 3 times per day.

8. Travel around New Zealand- Ok this one is not so much a goal but more somehting thats going to happen this year but oh my gosh I'm soo excited for it!!!

9. Film 1 Second Everyday- I did do this for 2015 but missed a lot and I wished I stuck to it, this year i want to capture everyday (or close to it) The 1se app is really great for making these videos.

10. Blog more- More blog posts yay! I also want to give my blog a fresh design.

11. Positive outlook- As always I'm constantly trying to improve who I am, shift my outlook on from negative to positive and work on my confidence.

12. Less time on phone/social media- I am planning on spending my year actually living which means not getting sucked into the social media vortex and spending hours scrolling on my phone.

13. Design- I want to spend more time on my design/art, and really putting in my all into my projects. I also want to start improving my skills; learning web design, learning calligraphy/practising hand lettering, learn photography and videography.

14. Gratitude- Writing 3 things that I'm grateful for each morning, and then 3 amazing things that happen that day each night.

15. Learn aromatherapy- I recently purchased an aromatherapy vapourizer and got some more essential oils for christmas. I'm planning on collecting a bunch of essential oils and learning the benefits of different blends (Relax, Energise, Immune boost, focus, uplift etc)

16. Be Happy

Hope everyone has an amazing year! x

MORNING RITUALS

Routines are always apart of my day, especially when I am trying to stay on track with my health. My favourite little routine is what I do in the morning. These are a couple of things I do after I wake up to start my day out right. Hope you enjoy x

WATER

My absolute very first thing I do in the morning is drinking a big glass of water with lemon or lime. After going 8 hours without water it’s important to hydrate when you wake up. Hydration is essential for healthy glowing skin and regular body functioning.
There are so many benefits to drinking water in the morning, it clears toxins and balances your systems. The lemon helps to alkalise your system and make you feel refreshed.

MINDSET

It’s so important to start your day in the right mindset. To ensure I feel positive in the morning I will usually do some morning affirmations, practice gratitude and set goals for my day.
Affirmations take you literally less than a minute to say in the morning and can change you whole day by putting you in the right mindset. These are my go to morning affirmations:

I am feeling healthy and strong today
I have all that I need to make this a great day
I can solve any challenges that face me today
I am happy and content with my life
I am filled with gratitude for another day on this earth

I notice that saying 10 things that I am thankful for can put me in the perfect mood, help me to feel more relaxed, content, less materialistic and overall more happy.

BREAKFAST

For breakfast I will have either a huge fruit salad topped with chia seeds(soaked); Turkish bread with avocado; or my favourite which is a healthy fresh green smoothie. I tend to eat light in the morning so I don’t feel sluggish for the rest of the day.

 EXERCISE

I always feel I have more energy in the day if I exercised that morning. It’s also an excuse to get up early and go outside – Despite the fact that I love to sleep in it's actually my favourite time of the day.
I either do a 10-20 minute run/bike ride, a 10-minute workout or my morning yoga routine. My favourite yoga app is Yoga Studio.

Hope you enjoyed! I'd love to know what's your morning routine?
